Transfer Series - Monoton | CMY

The focus of this work is on color shades and the illusion of three-dimensionality - created by a special

heat-shrinkable yarn, that contracts when exposed to heat. Where the material floats and is able to move, the fabric shrinks; where it is firmly bound, the surface remains even. The play with techniques continues. The jacquard fabrics of the Monoton series were sublimated with a thermal transfer print in a second step.

The design method is based on the reserve printing process in screen printing technology. The patterned use of cotton and polyester yarns, creates the basis for a new color dimension. While the natural fibers do not absorb the print, the gradient on the synthetic yarns comes into its own.
